What is Wheatgrass?

Wheatgrass is the young grass of the wheat plant. A green grass that is grown in fields or in the comfort of your home. It is an extremely nutrient dense young grass. The nutritional content in an ounce of wheat grass is equivalent to 2 – 5 pounds of vegetables. For example; wheatgrass has twice the amount of vitamin A as carrots and contains more vitamin c than oranges. Wheatgrass can be found in different forms: freshly juiced, frozen juiced, powder or in tablets. Wheatgrass is gluten free because it is cut before the wheat grain forms. The popularity of wheatgrass is due to its many health related benefits. For instance, wheatgrass can increase red blood cell and hemoglobin production, which can in turn increase the amount of oxygen one can carry through their circulatory system and can also increase their iron stores.

Cancer patients have turned to wheatgrass therapy because of this benefit. This increased oxygen benefit also allows for higher endurance during physical activity.

Wheatgrass can boost the immune system, act as a detoxifier helping to neutralize toxins and environmental pollutants; it promotes weight loss, helps with digestion, reduces food cravings, preserves eyesight, purifies the blood, protects from UV radiation, increases vitality, keeps
your PH level optimal, used for fertility treatment and it is also an anti-inflammatory.

What’s Inside?

Chlorophyll – contains one of the best sources of living chlorophyll. It allows the grass to convert the sun’s energy into a form we can use, it gets into our cells and rejuvenates them. Chlorophyll neutralizes toxins in the body.
Enzymes – contains enzymes because it is raw and
living. These help combat free radicals. Enzymes cleanse the body from heavy metals,
pollutants and other toxins.

Vitamins: A, C, K, B-complex, Calcium, Magnesium, Iron, sodium, potassium.
Complete protein – Contains 17 amino acids, which are the building blocks of proteins. It allows
the body to build and preserve muscle tissue and healthy cells.
Phytochemicals – helps with premature aging, can reverse disease. Phytochemicals are anti-carcinogenic, which helps to fight certain cancers.

It is important to note however, that not all wheatgrass is produced the same way, resulting in varying qualities. In order to reap the full benefits, wheatgrass should be purchased from a reputable producer and consumed as close to its natural state as possible.

Best way to consume wheatgrass is:
Juice and drink immediately
Flash frozen juiced
Frozen juiced
Powder or pill form

The best way to take wheat grass is by itself on an empty stomach. Wheatgrass can also be taken anytime throughout the day or evening. It can be added to smoothies and mixed with other juices. If taken on a regular basis, wheatgrass can provide long lasting effects to your health.
